into the sudan

October 27th, 2007 by pww

It is unlikely that I’ll be updating this for the next week. Tomorrow I’m flying into South Sudan to spend a week traveling to a couple different locations. I should be back by the weekend. Verémos, pues!

A passport, as I’m sure you know, is a document that one shows to government officials whenever one reaches a border between countries, so the officials can learn who you are, where you were born, and how you look when photographed unflatteringly. ~Lemony Snicket

    Safe travels, amigo.

I’m loving the mobile updates. And the concept of the foto album - can’t wait until it has more fotos. Especially if they contain adorable small children.

Maybe I should get one of these web page thingies for myself.

I am enjoying these mobile updates too! The image of Latin hits in a Sudanese restaurant conjures especially interesting mental images.

Come to think of it: your mobile updates are a bit like haikus–small snippets of sight and sound and life. Add some juxtaposition, and you’ve got yet another culture in your mix.
